Roscommon Community Challenge returns

Roscommon Moonlight Community Challenge 2026

The Roscommon Community Challenge is back for 2026.

The annual Roscommon Community Challenge will take place this Friday, March 6th, at 8pm. This year’s event will support the Roscommon Special Olympics Club and the Roscommon Community Sports Park.

Participants can walk, jog, or run either the 5K or 8K route, and both routes will start at the Roscommon Community Sports Park, Lisnamult, Roscommon Town, which will serve as the event headquarters.

The routes will be clearly marked and supervised by marshals, offering a beautiful moonlit tour of Roscommon town. The entry fee is €25 per adult and €10 per child.

The registration fee enables the wonderful Special Olympics Athletes to train safely and participate in games, matches and competition, not to mention the Special Olympics Irish Summer Games next June in Dublin, said the organisers.

“We are so proud of our many athletes, and we thank each and every participant who registers for the Moonlight Challenge for making these opportunities possible for them.” After the event, tea and coffee will be available at the Sports Park. Participants are encouraged to enjoy a warm drink, chat with others, and reflect on the evening.

For more information, please email info@rosactive.org or call 086 1721181 / 090 6630853. All participants must register and pay online via Eventbrite before the event.
