Roscommon families wanted for 12th series of Ireland’s Fittest Family

The Stratfords from County Cavan, with their coach Donncha O'Callaghan, were the winners of Ireland's Fittest Family in 2023.

Ireland’s Fittest Family — one of the most popular shows on RTÉ television — is looking for families from County Roscommon to take part in this year’s show.

Now in its 12th year, the county has yet to produce a winner, although the Cuddy family finished fourth in 2021.

Last year, rugby ace Donncha O’Callaghan coached the Stratfords from County Cavan to victory.

The winning family takes home €15,000 and is crowned Ireland’s Fittest Family.

Teams must have at least one male and one female member. A team can be made up of four immediate family members (a minimum of one parent/step-parent, one child), or if this isn’t possible, three immediate family members (as above) and an extended family member (grandparent/first cousin/aunt/uncle).

The minimum age to take part is 14 years old by June 1st, 2024. The series will be filmed between May and mid-August 2024 and families will be required for up to eight filming days (mostly on location) over this period.
