Roscommon Gardaí have implemented a major traffic plan for this afternoon's Mayo v Dublin game at Hyde Park.

With thousands of people expected to descend on the town for this afternoon's clash, Gardaí  are urging motorists to avoid any unnecessary travel though Roscommon Town.

Significant disruption is expected and Gardaí say that between the hours of 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.m to 8 p.m. people not attending the match should avoid the town area.

"Motorists must note that there will be no parking permitted on any part of the Circular Road. Persons parked at permitted locations on the Athlone Road and Golf Links Road are requested to park with their vehicles orientated away from Roscommon Town centre. Attendees are requested to use permitted public parking facilities only," said Gardaí
"An Garda Síochána hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable visit to Roscommon town. If you need our assistance we can be contacted at Roscommon Garda Station directly on (090) 6638300 or in an emergency call 999 or 112," they have advised.
