Roscommon Gardai issue slow down appeal after truck driver is stopped

Gardai in Roscommon have appealed to motorists to slow down as wet road conditions prevail across the county.

The appeal comes after Gardai in Roscommon were carrying out a speech check on Tuesday when they spotted a truck travelling at a speed of 77km/hr in a 50 zone.

"This road was slick with rain and took the driver past a school," said Gardai.

The driver was issued a fine and three penalty points.
