Roscommon jiver to compete for All-Ireland title
Roscommon jiver Kevin Shine is all set for the All-Ireland finals later this month.
Roscommon native Kevin Shine is set to compete in the All-Ireland jiving competitions final at the Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe, later this month.
Son of the late Tom and the late Bridie Shine, Moyvannion, Kiltoom, Kevin now resides in Edgeworthstown.
He was placed second overall in his category at the 2024 finals in the same venue alongside his dancing partner, sister Patricia, who lives in Kiltoom.
Kevin was featured on the RTÉ Nationwide series of programmes on the Irish country music genre recently about his jiving activities.
He was in attendance at a David James music night in the Abbey Hotel, Donegal when he was interviewed by the Nationwide team.
Kevin explained that due to the heat and perspiration, he typically goes through about ten shirts on any given night of jiving.
