A prominent County Roscommon man was praised at the January meeting of the county council.
During a presentation on the City of Athlone plan, CEO of Ballymore Sean Mulryan said that one of the people he told his plans to was Tulsk native Mr Adrian Jones, chairman of Global Private Equity and Asset Management at Goldman Sachs who encouraged him to keep going with the project.
Cathaoirleach Liam Callaghan acknowledged Mr Jones.
“Back in the day myself and Adrian were on the minor team from Tulsk to win a county title,” he said. “It was the era of the big full forward so Adrian fitted that bill perfectly for us.”
Cllr Sean Moylan also praised Mr Jones, saying he was a neighbour and a close family friend.
“Anything he was involved in he pushed it to the very end,” he said.
