Roscommon service station sells winning EuroDreams ticket worth €2,000 a month for five years
Ger Kennedy, store manager, and the team at Monksland Service Station celebrate after a customer won the EuroDreams Tier 2 prize in Monday night's draw. The prize is worth €2,000 per month for five years.
Celebrations are underway in South Roscommon as Monksland Service Station has been confirmed as the seller of Monday night’s EuroDreams Tier 2 winning ticket.
The EuroDreams player will receive €2,000 per month for the next five years after purchasing their ticket on the day of the draw (December 1st) at the busy Athlone store.
Store owner John Kennedy shared his excitement on receiving the news, “We’re delighted to be part of such an exciting win for one of our customers! There’s a great sense of pride in knowing this brilliant prize was won right here in Monksland. It’s created a real buzz among staff and customers, and we wish the winner every happiness as they enjoy their windfall.”
National Lottery spokesperson, Emma Monaghan, said: “We’re thrilled to share fantastic news – one of our EuroDreams players in the midlands has won big! A huge congratulations to our latest winner. They’ve already been in touch with our Prize Claims team, and arrangements are underway for them to collect their prize.”
EuroDreams is the first annuity game of its kind ever to be seen in Ireland, offering tax-free monthly payments instead of a lump sum.
Since its launch in 2023, EuroDreams has created 10 winners across Ireland, including the first Tier 1 winner in Wicklow and nine Tier 2 winners in Dublin (4), Kerry (2), Cork (1), Wicklow (1), and now Roscommon.
Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language.
In total, more than €6.5 billion has been raised for good causes since the National Lottery was established 37 years ago.
In 2024 alone, €239.3 million was raised for local good causes in communities across Ireland.
