A message of congratulations was extended to the St Brigid’s team and management at a recent meeting of Boyle Municipal District.

Members stated that “they made Roscommon and themselves proud.”

The team suffered a one point defeat in January's All-Ireland club senior football final against Dingle at Croke Park after extra time.

Cllr Leah Cull also congratulated the team and backroom staff “on an epic effort,” with Cllr Valerie Byrne stating that “they fought hard and it was a hard way to lose.”

The Elphin councillor also said that Strokestown “should be very proud of themselves,” despite their defeat in All-Ireland club intermediate football semi-final.

Cathaoirleach of the MD Cllr Sean Moylan said the team had been “phenomenal.”
