Train services suspended after ‘tragic incident’ reported on rail line

Train services between Athlone and Galway have been suspended this evening following a “tragic incident” on the line.

Iarnród Éireann has advised passengers that significant delays are expected following a tragic incident on the line shortly before 6 p.m. this evening Wednesday, September 4th.

The company has advised that emergency services are on site. Bus transfers are being arranged to operate between Athlone and Galway.
