An Garda Síochána has paid tribute to two Roscommon gardaí for their combined 84 years of service and counting.

It was pointed out on the An Garda Síochána’s official Facebook page that between the two of them, Garda Tony Brennan and Garda Vincent Hickey shared “a staggering 84 years of service” with the force.

However, it was also noted that their dedication to the community doesn't end at the patrol car door.

“Garda Hickey is known for his involvement in running having completed numerous marathons and half marathons, while Garda Brennan keeps a steady hand on the whistle as a well-known GAA referee in Roscommon.

“These two define what it means to be active in the community. Through decades of change, they’ve remained a constant, reliable presence, keeping our roads, communities and people safe.

“A massive thank you to this dynamic duo for their combined 84 years of service and counting!,” said the page.
