Two hospitalised following County Roscommon road collision

Two people, one of whom suffered serious injuries, have been brought to hospital following a road collision in the county this afternoon.

Gardaí and emergency services attended a two-vehicle road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 1:20pm this afternoon, Monday, on the N4 in Ardcarne, County Roscommon. The air ambulance is also in attendance at the scene, according to eye witnesses.

A man aged in his 70s was conveyed to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries sustained during this collision. A woman aged in her 40s was also conveyed to Sligo University Hospital as a precaution.

The N4 was closed for a period of time following this collision and has now re-opened for use.
