The public can leave condolences online for the late Cllr Anthony Waldron.

While no funeral details have been arranged yet, the death notice of the popular Independent councillor was posted on RIP.ie this afternoon.

“The Waldron family really appreciate your support during this difficult time,” the notice said. “Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.” The death occurred of Councillor Anthony (Tony) Waldron, Ballintubber, Castlerea, County Roscommon, formerly Carrowneaden, Aghamore, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, Sunday 9th February 2025, peacefully at his home.

He was predeceased by his parents Jim and Mary, and his uncle Tony. He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family, siblings Mary, Breege, Sheila, Seamus, Padraic, Trish, Eamon and David, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandniece, his good friend Tommy Joe Finnegan, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
