Watch: Hundreds line the streets of Roscommon for switching on of the Christmas lights
Crowds thronged the streets of Roscommon Town this evening, Sunday, for the switching on of the town's Christmas lights.
Santa and his helpers have officially switched on the Christmas lights in Roscommon Town.
This evening hundreds of people have crowded into the town to sample the festive atmosphere and to witness the official countdown to Christmas.
“It is the traditional start of the festive season in Roscommon and a wonderful community event as the twinkling lights are switched on, transforming the town core. Everyone in the family enjoys a feel-good, traditional Christmas ritual. It is all about making memories,” said Eamonn Gleeson, PRO, Roscommon Christmas Lights Committee.
