MEP Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan Ming said MEPs across Europe still have a choice to make and can vote to reject the contentious EU-Mercosur deal in the coming weeks.

On Friday, the EU Commission provisionally approved the deal which farmers fear will lead to cheap imports of South American goods, notably beef, that do not meet the EU's green and food safety standards.

The controversial agreement still needs the backing of the European Parliament when MEPs come to vote on it.

The Midlands Northwest MEP was speaking at today’s mass rally in Athlone against the Mercosur deal.
