Watch: Roscommon athlete wins All Ireland silver in high jump

County Roscommon athletes did fantastically well over the weekend at an All Ireland event.

Roscommon teenagers Emily Clyne, Emily Gately, and Nathan Hoban all medalled at the 123.ie National Juvenile Track and Field Championships in Tullamore.

Emily, who is a member of Reeside Ac, won an All-Ireland U17 High Jump Silver Medal, after clearing 1.68m with a superb performance. She came agonisingly close to a new personal best of 1.71m. Her club praised Emily on a fantastic achievement, saying they were incredibly proud of her. Emily Gately of Roscommon AC also took 3rd place overall in the U16 Girls High Jump in a welcome return to the event.

Nathan, also of Roscommon AC, took home the bronze in U14 Boys 200m. After winning his heat with a personal best, he powered to bronze in the final, with the Roscommon Town based club congratulating him on his fantastic achievement.
