It was another fantastic day of sport and achievement for the county’s athletes on Sunday last. Approximately 450 children and teenagers took part in the 2026 Longford, Roscommon & Westmeath Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The rising stars of Irish athletics were celebrated at the 2025 Juvenile All-Star Awards, held at the Mullingar Park Hotel on April 18th. County Roscommon athlete Emily Clyne was awarded the honour for her county.

The awards reflect the nationwide strength and diversity of talent within Irish athletics.

Athletes from across the province — including a strong contingent from County Roscommon — delivered outstanding performances at the recent Connacht Indoor Championships in Athlone.
