Watch video: Lots of friendly rivalry in school with mixed loyalties!
There's been plenty of band and fun at Mount Talbot NS this week.
There’s been plenty of friendly banter and rivalry between Galway and Roscommon supporters in advance of this weekend’s Connacht SFC Final, but what happens if your school is located on the border?
As the countdown continues to the big game on Sunday, there was no doubting the excitement at Mount Talbot National School this week.
The Roscommon school was half painted in maroon and white with the second half coated in gold and blue.
With those mixed loyalties, even the staff took part in the entertaining competition!
School principal Lorraine Brennan spoke about the craic at school in the run up to the final.
“We always have great banter between the Galway supporters and the Rossies, the kids and ourselves,” she said.
The Galway native said she can’t wait to come into school on Monday when her county wins the Nestor Cup at Dr. Hyde Park!
It’s safe to say Sunday’s game is going to be a nailbiter!!
