Weather warning of possible snow on the way
Some sleet and snow could fall tonight.
Met Eireann is warning that possible snow and sheet showers are on the way in the region tonight, Tuesday.
It is forecasted to be wet and windy with widespread outbreaks of rain and drizzle, possibly falling as sleet or snow at times with lows of 0 to 3 degrees. Southeasterly winds will be fresh to strong.
It will be cold and dry today and bright to begin, cloud will thicken from the southwest through the morning and afternoon. Highs of just 3 to 5 degrees, and becoming breezy with southeasterly winds increasing moderate to fresh.
Tomorrow is expected to be wet and breezy with widespread outbreaks of rain and drizzle. The rain will gradually clear eastwards with scattered showers and bright spells following for the afternoon. Already saturated ground, together with strong onshore winds coinciding with high tides, mean that some spot and coastal flooding is likely. Highs of 5 to 10 degrees, with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.
