Young driver seriously injured in collision passes away in hospital

A man in his 20s who was seriously injured in a road traffic collision between Williamstown and Dunmore in the early hours of Friday morning last has passed away in hospital.
Gardaí continue to investigate the serious road traffic collision, which occurred at Ballintava, Dunmore and are appealing for witnesses to the single-vehicle collision on the R360. The incident occurred at approximately 2.30 a.m.
The male driver of the car (aged in his 20’s) was conveyed to University Hospital Galway for treatment of serious injuries and has since passed away.
The male passenger of the car (also in his 20’s) was conveyed to University Hospital Galway for treatment of injuries.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward. Additionally, they are requesting those with camera footage, including motorists with dashcam, who were travelling in the area of Ballintava, Dunmore on Friday, October 18th between 1.30am and 2.30am, to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
