Scoil Samhraidh Joe Mooney is a new four-part series filmed on location in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim, during July 2025. This traditional music series, which will air on Sundays on TG4 from February 8th at 9.30 p.m., blends world-class performances with engaging conversations, set against the lakelands of Leitrim.

The series celebrates every aspect of the tradition—learners, festival-goers, dancers, singers, young contemporary players, and seasoned professionals. Now marking its 35th year, the summer school continues to draw discerning audiences and exceptional musicians. The series captures the rich variety of sights and sounds that define this annual event.

Each episode follows a day at the summer school, from morning to night, featuring music, song, dance, and conversation with characters from both near and far. Across the four episodes, viewers will meet an inspiring mix of musicians, dancers, and singers.

Building on the success of the popular Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy format, this series is a must-watch for lovers of traditional music.

Scoil Samhraidh Joe Mooney is produced and directed by traditional musician and filmmaker Edel Fox for Tyrone Productions.
