A former Roscommon senior footballer is looking forward to 2024 after a “very unexpected difficult year”.
Paul Earley, who won an All-Star in 1985, was diagnosed with head and neck cancer 12 months ago and underwent treatment during the year.
In a post on Facebook, the former Michael Glaveys player stated that he was “back on the bike after a very unexpected difficult year”, and went on to thank everyone for their messages, cards and prayers.
“I'm truly grateful for your support and encouragement which made a real difference and gave me a much-needed boost to cope with the treatment challenges in particular.
“Have recovered well and am now looking forward to 2024 with great optimism, enthusiasm and renewed energy and with new goals to pursue.
“I wish everyone a very happy and healthy year ahead and hope that you will have similar support from your friends as I received in dealing with any adversity that may come your way. Happy New Year everyone,” he said.
