Another Roscommon club appoints new senior football manager
Paul McGarry is the new manager of the Roscommon Gaels senior football team.
Another County Roscommon club has appointed a new senior football manager for this season.
It is understood that Roscommon Gaels have turned to former Ballina Stephenites player, Paul McGarry, as the new man at the helm, subject to ratification.
McGarry, who won an All-Ireland club title with the Stephenites in 2005, has taken over from Roscommon senior football manager, Mark Dowd.
McGarry was in charge of Moy Davitts who were beaten in last year’s Mayo intermediate football final by Kilmeena.
His previous managerial experience includes stints with Cill Chomain who reached the 2021 and 2022 county junior finals. He also spent two years with Mayo Gaels before taking over Moy Davitts.
With the local club leagues about to get underway, the list of managers for the various clubs is almost complete.
Ten out of the 12 clubs competing for the Fahey Cup later this year now have their managers in place.
The latest appointment leaves Strokestown and Michael Glaveys as the only senior teams without a manager.
