There is growing speculation that a former All-Ireland winner with the Dublin senior footballers will be part of Mark Dowd’s backroom team.

Jason Sherlock, who was a key part of the Dubs’ All-Ireland success in 1995, was an interested spectator at Sunday afternoon’s Roscommon SFC final between St. Brigid’s and Pádraig Pearses.

The highly-rated Sherlock was an integral part of Jim Gavin’s Dublin management set-up as they secured a record-breaking five All-Ireland titles in a row before joining Dessie Dolan’s Westmeath management in 2023 as a performance coach.

Iain Daly (Michael Glaveys) and John Rogers (Strokestown) are understood to be selectors with Dowd next season.
