A former Roscommon selector has been appointed as manager of a leading Dublin club.
Lar Wall has been appointed manager of the St. Jude’s senior football team for 2025.
Wall served as selector under current manager Davy Burke. He was part of the Roscommon management team for 2024 as the county suffered relegation from Division One of the Allianz league before progressing through to the All Ireland quarter final.
St. Jude’s progressed to the county final in 2021, 2018 and 2009 but lost out on each occasion.
Wall was linked with the Meath manager’s job after Colm O’Rourke stepped down but the job went to Robbie Brennan, who oversaw three Leinster club titles and an All Ireland for Kilmacud Crokes.
He was also linked with Westmeath when the Lake County were searching for a new man at the helm, but Dermot McCabe was chosen to take charge of the team in 2025.
Wall’s coaching career began in Gaeil Colmcille in Meath in 2015, he spent seven years at the helm.
He then took the reins of The Downs in Westmeath, helping the club win the county championship for the first time in 17 years and also guiding them to a Leinster final, which they lost narrowly to Kilmacud Crokes.
