Good week for Roscommon LGFA teams

It has been a good week for Roscommon LGFA teams, with wins for both the county U-16 and minor sides.

The minor ladies’ footballers, who are managed by Trevor Clohessy, recorded an impressive 1-9 to 0-7 victory against Mayo at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence on Wednesday evening.

Rachel Flynn from St. Michael's/St. Ronan's scored the all-important goal.

On Saturday last, the U-16 ladies' footballers were too good for Sligo as Tommy Keane’s side triumphed 1-18 to 0-3 in the opening round of the provincial championship.

It’s another busy weekend for teams, with the county U-14 girls’ team — managed by Megan Gaughan — taking on Sligo in the Connacht B final at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, Bekan, on Saturday at 11 a.m..

Later on Saturday, the U-16 ladies' team will hope to make it two wins from two when they play Leitrim in Kiltubrid at 4 p.m..
