New vice-president congratulated by Roscommon club that ‘means everything" to him

PJ Martin is the new vice-president of St. Brigid's GAA Club.
The new vice-president of a County Roscommon GAA Club has described the club as meaning “everything to me, it's my life.”
St. Brigid’s GAA Club congratulated PJ Martin on his new role this week, adding that the accolade was “richly deserved”.
The 2013 All-Ireland winners noted that it would find it extremely tough to find anyone in Ireland who has committed more to their GAA club than PJ Martin.
The club described the number of roles PJ has held within St. Brigid’s since the age of 14.
“PJ started out as a football player in his early days, but his greatest impacts have come serving roles on various committees over the decades.
“In 1971, PJ proudly served as club secretary. He has been involved in numerous committees, fundraising events and club activities, where his input has been priceless.
“PJ is always on hand to offer support, whether it be to players of any age, or to newer members of the club looking to get involved on or off the pitch.”
Speaking about his appointment as vice-president, PJ expressed his gratitude to the club for nominating him. He declared his pride in seeing so many successful teams within the club over the years, from underage, senior adult teams, and the latest team in the club, "Gaelic 4 Mothers and Others".
PJ has also spent six years on the county minor board, 13 years on the mid-south board, and 13 years on the county executive, showcasing his dedication not only to St Brigid's, but to the whole county.
PJ concluded by thanking his family for their "support and patience" over the years, adding that he “couldn't do it without them".
