Roscommon clubmen help Athlone school progress to Leinster quarter final
Roscommon men helped Marist College to a one point victory over St. Pat's of Navan.
There was a strong Roscommon influence as Marist College overcame St. Pat’s Navan 3-9 to 1-14 in the Br. Bosco Cup (Leinster Post Primary Schools Senior A football championship).
St. Dominic’s clubman Thomas Cotton buried to the net as Marist College came from three points down to prevail by the minimum. Clann na nGael were represented with Zac Mullally in goal and wing back Kyle Mahon.
Mahon helped his side come from three down to equalise a minute into injury time as he knocked over a vital score.
The win ensures Marist College will face Moate Community School in the Br. Bosco Cup quarter final.
Roscommon and Pádraig Pearses footballer Niall Daly is involved with Moate Community School’s management team alongside Peter Tormey, who served as a selector with the Roscommon footballers in 2022.
