A County Roscommon woman was elected national treasurer of the LGFA at Congress in County Donegal last weekend.

Former Connacht LGFA President, Geraldine Carey, took over the role in what was a proud day for Roscommon LGFA.

A familiar face at venues across the country for ladies’ matches, Geraldine — from St. Brigid’s GAA Club — is a member of the Roscommon LGFA executive and has given sterling service to ladies’ football over the years.

She had been assistant treasurer of the LGFA in recent years.

National Congress also saw Trina Murray — a native of Moate, just outside Athlone — take over as LGFA President.
