St. Brigid's send out ominous warning

St. Brigid's underlined their credentials as the team to beat once again in this year's Roscommon SFC, which gets underway in three weeks' time, by teaching Roscommon Gaels a lesson in Friday evening's Division One Football League (O'Rourke Cup) final in Kiltoom.
Anthony Cunningham's side were in a different league as they outclassed their opponents who sorely missed a number of injured players.
Lining out with nine of the players that started last January's All-Ireland club final against Glen, the reigning Roscommon and Connacht club champions were imperious from pillar to post, and once Brian Stack fired an unstoppable shot to the roof of the net after 12 minutes, the floodgates opened.
Led by the excellent Conor Hand, who hit 1-3, and defensive lynchpin Ruaidhrí Fallon, Brigid's raced into a 2-6 to 0-1 interval lead.
Further goals in the second half from Brian Derwin and Ciarán Sugrue embellished the home side's position as they ran out comprehensive 18-point winners.
Meanwhile, Boyle preserved their O'Rourke Cup status with a comfortable 2-17 to 0-7 victory against Éire Óg in Ballinameen.
Goals from Enda Smith and substitute Luke McGrath either side of half time put Cian Smith's side on the road to victory.
