A Tipperary footballer with strong Roscommon connections helped her native county to a valuable win.
Neassa Towey came off the bench for Tipperary as they powered to a 1-12 to 0-10 victory over Roscommon at St. Croan’s GAA Grounds.
Neassa, the daughter of Michael Towey, is the granddaughter of St. Croan’s GAA Club President Patricia Towey, who is a well respected presence within the club.
Tipperary’s victory helped them survive relegation but the defeat consigned Roscommon to Division Three football for 2026.
