Roscommon handballer Fiona Tully moved a step closer to a first World 4-Wall crown as she secured victory in her first game of the campaign.
Tully secured a 15-5 15-6 victory over promising young Kildare handballer Mollie Dagg in their quarter final showdown in Croke Park today.
The win ensures the St. Coman’s handballer will face a familiar foe in Limerick’s Martina McMahon in the semi final. McMahon defeated Tully in the final of the World Wallball Championships back in August although the Roscommon woman did rebound to strike gold in the doubles.
The semi final will be held on Saturday morning while the Kilbride footballer will also be in action tomorrow as she commences her doubles campaign alongside Tyrone’s Eilise McCrory.
