Roscommon Golf Club crowned Connacht Barton Shield champions
The Roscommon Golf Club senior men's team that won the Connacht final of the Barton Shield in Ballinasloe on Sunday afternoon.
Roscommon Golf Club has added another feather to its illustrious cap by becoming Connacht Barton Shield champions on Sunday afternoon.
The club’s senior men’s team defeated Ballinasloe by three holes in difficult conditions.
The team of Thomas Higgins, Cian O’Connor, Simon Walker and Allan Hill had defeated Galway Bay by seven holes in the semi-finals.
A large crowd of supporters made their way to Ballinasloe, despite the inclement weather, and they weren’t disappointed as Captain Enda Daly got his hands on the big prize.
Roscommon Golf Club will now represent Connacht at the All-Ireland finals of the competition in Douglas, County Cork, later this year.
