Roscommon golfer selected for European Championships

Roscommon’s Olivia Costello has been selected to represent Ireland at the European Girls' Team Championships.
Costello will compete in Gothenburg, Sweden from July 9th to 13th.
Four teams have been selected to represent Ireland in the EGA European Team Championships taking place between 9-13 July.
The four championships taking place are the European Amateur Team Championship, European Ladies' Team Championship, European Boys' Team Championship and the European Girls' Team Championship.
Each event will involve two rounds of stroke play qualifying with five of six scores to count per team, with the top-eight teams going into match play for the overall championship.
Meanwhile, three Roscommon golfers will be aiming to help Connacht secure Interprovincial glory with the competition commencing today (Wednesday).
Cian O’Connor and Simon Walker, both of Roscommon Golf Club are representing Connacht in the Men’s Interprovincial matches which are being held in Cavan.
Roscommon Golf Club’s Cathal McConn is manager of the Connacht team as they aim to stop Leinster claiming a three in a row of Interprovincial titles at Slieve Russell.
