A County Roscommon player is set for a three-month stint on the sideline through injury.
Connacht Rugby scrum-half Colm Reilly has undergone surgery on an ankle injury, which is expected to keep him out of action for 12 weeks.
Reilly, a former Pádraig Pearses footballer, had been involved in Connacht’s games this season, but missed last Saturday’s heart-breaking defeat against Leinster through injury.
Earlier this year, Reilly signed a two-year contract extension with the province.
Connacht open their Investec Champions Cup campaign against Bordeaux-Begles on Friday (tomorrow evening) evening — a game where Ireland World Cup star, Bundee Aki, is expected to make his first appearance of the season after overcoming a hamstring injury.
