A young County Roscommon woman scored one of Ireland’s tries during their victory against Italy and the U-18 Six Nations Festival in Wales this afternoon.
Sarah Purcell grabbed her side’s second try in the 20-0 victory against Italy.
The Creggs centre made a scintillating run before crossing the whitewash after her Creggs team-mate Jemima Adams Verling made a clean break through the centre of the Italian defence.
Earlier in the day, Ireland lost out 19-12 against England.
Three of Creggs U-18 girls’ players — Jemima Adams Verling, Sarah Purcell and Siofra Hession — have been selected on the Ireland squad for the festival which is taking place this weekend.
