Three Roscommon players helped the Ireland U-21 women’s rugby team secure an historic win over England.
Róisín Maher, Jemima Adams Verling and Síofra Hession were all part of the Irish squad that earned a thrilling 41-40 win over England.
Maher and Verling both scored tries as Ireland scored 24 unanswered points either side of half-time to overcome England for the first time at U-21 or U-20 level.
Despite Sally Kelly, Lucia Linn, and Beth Buttimer, all spending time in the sin bin, Ireland’s six try haul ultimately saw them procure an historic result.
