The Connacht U-17 and U-18 training squads contain strong local interest.

Creggs RFC are represented in the U-17 squad by Joe McSharry and Sam Walsh. Meanwhile, Jude Kennedy and Krystian Kopczynski fly the flag for Carrick RFC in the same training group.

Marist College’s Adam Murphy, Daragh Murray and John Finnan are all included in the U-17 squad as is Sean O'Hara of Coláiste Chiaráin, Athlone.

The U-18 training group also sees heavy local representation as CBS Roscommon students and Creggs RFC players Cian Kiernan and Kaylum Curran are included. So too is his clubmate and Coláiste Mhuire, Ballygar student Daniel Kelly.

Carrick RFC’s Alastair Hewson is also part of the U-18 squad.

Marist College Athlone are also well represented through Ciaran West, Peter Bourke, Rueben Colleran, Darragh Glennon, Oisin O'Donoghue and Owen Egan. Ballinasloe RFC’s Emmanuel Albert, a student at Garbally College has also been included in the U-18 squad.

Meanwhile, Connacht Rugby Academy Manager Eric Elwood has today confirmed a 16-man Academy squad for the 2025/26 season.

This year’s squad includes an intake of eight players into Year 1 of the programme. Coming through the Connacht pathway system to take their place in the squad is Carrick-on Shannon’s Diarmaid O’Connell.
