Roscommon club wins second national cup title

The St. Joseph's FC U-16 team that won the Subway SFAI National Cup title in Kilkenny this afternoon.
A County Roscommon soccer club is celebrating once again after becoming the best team in Ireland for the second time in two years.
St. Joseph's, based in Monksland, South Roscommon, were crowned SFAI Subway U-16 National Cup champions this afternoon following a 1-0 triumph over Cork outfit Leeside United at Evergreen FC, Kilkenny.
The match winning goal came in the tenth minute when centre-back Dylan Dennehy netted a penalty after Player of the Match Leon Nolan was upended inside the box.
Despite moving ahead so early, St. Joseph's created the better chances, and a Felipe Sousa header rattled the underside of the crossbar.
As expected Leeside piled forward late on with striker Jamie Coughlan almost bundling home an equaliser in the dying stages, but St. Joseph's deservedly secured top honours on another historic day for the club.
