Creagh’s Heather Payne has signed for Leicester City on a two year deal.

Payne has linked up with the Foxes ahead of their Women’s Super League campaign, which commences next month.

The South Roscommon woman joins Leicester City from Everton, where she spent the past two seasons.

The right back played with Peamount United before signing for Bristol City in August 2018.

She later took up a college scholarship with Florida State Seminoles, spending four years in the American college system prior to linking up with Everton in 2023.

The right back could make her competitive debut for Leicester City in their Super League opening game against Man United on September 7 while Leicester City's first home game will be against Liverpool the following weekend.

Speaking to Foxes Hub, Payne said: "This is a place where I can develop, and I've heard really good things about the team itself and the staff.

"Belvoir Drive is an outstanding facility and that's an added bonus having access to everything you need as a player. It looks really good and I'm excited to get to work there."
