“General Practice has changed tremendously says the team at Keenan/Donegan/De Brun General Practice in Roscommon Town.

Tributes have been paid to a County Roscommon GP who has retired.

The team at Keenan/Donegan/De Brun General Practice in Roscommon Town said that it was a “bittersweet” moment for them as they wished Dr. John Keenan well.

“Dr Keenan was the heart of the practice for nearly 40 years. After being a dedicated, caring GP, with a genuine concern for patients well-being, and an advocate for all his patients, he has finally hung up his stethoscope for the final time,” said the team.

“General practice has changed tremendously during the career of Dr Keenan, and throughout these times, the good and bad, Dr Keenan continued to work extremely hard, and remained committed to providing the highest quality care to all his patients, whilst enduring the challenges that general practices now face.

“We are exceptionally privileged to have worked alongside Dr Keenan, and proud of who you are, and the difference you have made in our lives.

“You will be greatly missed, but now it is your time.

“We wish you a retirement that's filled with health, happiness, adventure and a bit of craic along the way,” said the team.
