The Dock, Carrick-on-Shannon will host an electrifying night of music on Saturday, February 21st as rising alternative rock band Fair Green take to the stage, joined by acclaimed Scottish singer songwriter Lavinia Blackwall.
Hailing from the west of Ireland, Fair Green merge melodic craft with a distinctive 90s alternative edge. The band began as the creative outlet of Harry Bouchier, who, after years immersed in electronic music production and performance, sought a new medium for expression. This evolution led to the formation of Fair Green.
Bouchier began collaborating with Thomas James Simon, whose songwriting and production contributions imbued the music with flavours of Rufus Wainwright, Supergrass, Radiohead, Blur, and Elliott Smith, while retaining a strong sense of 60s-inspired melody.
With the additions of seasoned studio musician Udo Grunewald and Roy Branagan on lead guitar completing the lineup, Fair Green are now preparing for the release of their ten-track debut album, Killer Universe, recorded at The Barne Studios in Glasgow and set to launch in early 2026.

Sharing the evening’s bill will be Lavinia Blackwall, one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary folk and psych rock. A classically trained soprano, Blackwall first rose to prominence as the lead singer of Glasgow’s renowned psych-folk ensemble Trembling Bells, celebrated for their bold fusion of folk, rock, and baroque traditions. Across seven albums with the band, she developed a vocal style often compared to Sandy Denny, while collaborating with legendary artists including Bonnie Prince Billy and Mike Heron of The Incredible String Band.
Her solo debut, Muggington Lane End (2020), drew widespread acclaim for its lush arrangements and intricate songwriting. Blackwall’s most recent album, The Making (2025), further showcases her mastery of evocative, genre blending composition — spanning folk, rock, psych, and power pop — and solidified her place as a leading voice in modern alternative music.
Tickets €10. Available from www.thedock.ie or 071 965 0828.
