Launch of Leitrim Folk Club 

A major new addition to the Irish traditional and acoustic music scene is set to debut later month. The Leitrim Folk Club will officially launch on Saturday,  June 20th at 9 p.m. establishing its permanent home at the newly renovated Leitrim Inn & Blueway Lodge in Leitrim Village.

Designed specifically as a  "listeners’ music club," the venue aims to provide an attentive space where music lovers can truly appreciate the nuances of world-class folk artistry.

To celebrate its grand opening, the club will host a headline performance from Eleanor Shanley and Mike Hanrahan as they bring their highly anticipated nationwide summer tour, 'The Ghosts of You,' to the Leitrim stage.

The launch marks a homecoming and milestone for the duo. Coinciding with the tour,  they have released 'The Ghost of You,' a poignant four-track EP produced by Bill Shanley that honours their decades in Irish music and their deep-rooted friendships, including their late, legendary collaborator Ronnie Drew.

Eleanor Shanley, who is a native of Keshcarrigan,  is universally recognised as one of Ireland’s most loved and respected vocalists. Mike Hanrahan has been at the forefront of the Irish music industry for over  40 years, first finding prominence with Maura O'Connell before fronting the groundbreaking folk-rock group Stockton’s Wing. 

Adding to the evening's  lineup  will be special guest,  singer-songwriter Michael Banahan.
