Musical reflection on climate and place

Composer Natalia Beylis will be joined in Carrick by an ensemble of celebrated musicians.

The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon will present ‘Around Here, The Birds Plant The Trees’, a compelling new composition by acclaimed sound artist and composer Natalia Beylis, performed live on Friday, November 7th. Commissioned as part of a broader initiative to explore climate change through contemporary music, Beylis is joined by an ensemble of celebrated musicians, Willie Stewart (percussion), Eimear Reidy (cello), Tola Custy (fiddle), and viola players Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh and Ultan O'Brien.

Together, they invite audiences to reflect on the past, present, and possible futures of a single field — a microcosm of our shared environment.

Described by producer and contemporary music advocate Jonathan Grimes as “a wonderfully uplifting and positively affirming piece,” this performance promises to be a thought-provoking experience for all who attend.

Tickets are available via the Dock’s website at www.thedock.ie or by calling 071 965 0828.
