Night and Day song contest open for entries
The annual Night and Day Festival, now entering its fifth year, takes place from May 29th-31st at Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle.
Entries for the annual Night and Day song contest have opened. The song contest gives emerging artists the chance to perform at Night and Day as well as win studio recording time to record their winning track.
The festival, now entering its fifth year, takes place from May 29th-31st at Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle.
Previous winners include Patrick Stefan, Dubh Lee, Dark Isle, Alright Then, Ethan Henry (junior competition) and BRÍD (junior competition).
Organisers are looking forward to discovering some more great artists this year with the winners getting to play at the festival and win studio recording time with sponsors Soundcaster Studios and Paddy Jordan Recording Studio.
Commenting on the song contest festival director Brendan Hurley said: “As we launch this year’s Night and Day songwriting competition, it’s hard not to reflect on how meaningful it has become to the festival over the past five years. From the outset, our aim was to create a genuine platform for emerging songwriters to develop their craft and be heard. Year after year, the standard of entries continues to rise, and it has been incredibly rewarding to see artists go on to release music, tour, and build sustainable careers.”
Creative director at Night and Day Declan Hurley added: “Now in its fifth year, the song contest continues to grow every year. Previous winners have been amongst the festival highlights and no doubt will be again this year.”
