Lough Key Forest Park will once again host the popular Night & Day Festival.

There’s just over a month to go before the popular Night and Day Festival returns to County Roscommon, featuring a stellar line-up of national and internationally acclaimed acts on stage at Lough Key Forest Park in Boyle.

The three-day eclectic music festival, running from June 28th to June 30th, is a strictly over 20s event, but those under 14 can enter for free when accompanied by an adult.

Newstalk was recently announced as the broadcasting partner of Night and Day.

The partnership will see Newstalk’s The Anton Savage Show broadcast two special live programmes from the festival.

The family-friendly adventure festival features acts such as; Bell X1, Damien Dempsey, Gemma Hayes, Mick Flannery, Susan O’Neill, Ash, The Undertones, The Frank and Walters, Kynsy, Roisin El Cherif, Dea Matrona, The Mersey Beatles, Morgana, Ailbhe Reddy, and many more.

The festival allows attendees to explore the beautiful grounds and campsite at Lough Key Forest Park. Families will also be able to avail of the on-site activities such as zip-lining courses, tree-top walks and kayaking.

Night and Day co-founder Craig Hughes said: “We’re delighted that Newstalk have again decided to partner with Night and Day and this time decided to bring two special broadcasts to the festival. We wouldn’t be able to make the event happen without their support.”

Ahead of this year’s festival, Bell X1 members, Paul Noonan and Dave Geraghty, were eagerly looking forward to the event and performing on the main stage on the final day of the festival, on Sunday.

Speaking at the launch Paul Noonan said: “I really admire people who try and get festivals off the ground.”

His views were echoed by fellow band member David Geraghty who said the band were “very excited to be finally getting down to Roscommon to play a gig, it was the last one on our bucket list”.

As well as featuring top quality Irish and international acts, this year’s Night and Day Festival will also showcase new and emerging performers as well as local groups, playing before packed local audiences.

Two such groups are Ballaghaderreen act ‘Death Milkshake’ a musical creation of Wes Pollington from Willowbrook Glamping. Another group performing during the festival will be Grooveline from Carrick on Shannon, who are an up and coming young band.

Craig Hughes explained that the Night and Day Festival had grown significantly from its inception and was likely to be one of the main headline festivals of a busy summer of music.

“We’re delighted to be returning to Boyle once again. The festival features a top class line-up of artists, who have enjoyed national and global success. Many of the acts performing enjoyed success over four decades and we’re delighted to have such a line-up of acts,”Mr Hughes remarked.

“The unique setting of Lough Key Forest Park will provide a great sense of occasion for the weekend. The festival will provide a quality, comfortable experience for those visiting for the weekend or attending on one or more of the festival dates. We’d like to acknowledge the support of our partners and the wider community of Boyle for their loyal and generous support.”
