Woman (60s) dies following collision in Co Clare
A woman has died following a single-vehicle collision in Newmarket on Fergus, Co. Clare, last Friday.
The collision occurred on the R458 at 10:50 pm.
The driver, a woman in her 60s, was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries.
She was pronounced deceased on Tuesday.
A female passenger in her 70s was conveyed to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A technical examination of the scene was conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the R458, near Rathfollan, Newmarket on Fergus, Co. Clare on Friday 27th March 2026 between 10:30pm and 11:00pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
