Thanks to all of the children for competing for Elphin Community Games last Saturday in Ballyleague. A special well done to the two medalists Anna Martha & Laoise. Thanks to all of the parents who supported us on the day.
The death occurred on Saturday, May 25th, peacefully, after an illness borne with great dignity and fortitude, surrounded by her family, in the wonderful care of the staff at Roscommon Hospice, of Ms Henriette Klaussen, Chapel Street, Elphin. Henriette will be sadly missed by her loving sons, Kristoffer and Alexander and their father Val Mulvihill; mother, Tone; sister, Benedicte; Tone’s partner, Tore; grandchild, Katie, extended family, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her father Roy. May she rest in peace. Removal took place on Friday last from Brady’s Funeral Home, Elphin to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan for committal.

Windmill Wheelers Sportive will take place on June 9th. This initiative is part of this year's leisure series events, designed to inspire cyclists of all skill levels to hop on their bikes and embark on a journey to explore the province on two wheels in the upcoming months. The death took place on Monday, May 27th, of Fr. William J. (Billy) Farrell, Glasthule, Dublin. He was former parish priest of Glasthule. Fr. Billy's mother was Kathleen Sharkey, of Ardmore, Croghan. He often visited Croghan and celebrated Mass in Croghan Church. His funeral Mass took place on Friday, May 31st in St. Joseph's Church, Glasthule. Fr. Billy will be sadly missed by his sisters, brother, extended family and his many cousins in Croghan and Ballinameen.
Windmill Players present Brian Friel's "Dancing at Lughnasa" at the Hawk's Well Theatre, Sligo on Friday and Saturday, June 14th/15th. The Windmill Players are kindly donating the proceeds from Friday night's show to the "Dom's Wish" fundraiser, to support the late Dominic Keenehan's wife, Orla McDermott Keenehan and children. Tickets priced €15 may be purchased online at hawkswell.com. This promises to be a very entertaining night and all support will be greatly appreciated. Doors open at 7.30 p.m. and show at 8 p.m..
