Five men and one female have been arrested as part of a cross-border operation targeting online fraud.

Both An Garda Síochána and the UK's National Crime Agency made arrests on May 26th & 27th, 2026.

On Tuesday, gardaí attached to the Kilkenny Detective Unit conducted a day of action targeting online fraud connected to a money laundering network.

They searched several properties in Counties Donegal, Longford, and Louth.

During the operation, Gardaí seized £174,000 (€200,000), €7,000, a motor vehicle, and some items of evidential value.

Two adult males (aged in their 30s and 60s) were arrested and are currently at a Garda Station in Co Kilkenny.

On Wednesday, the Crime Agency (NCA) arrested three males (aged in their 40s, 40s, and 60s) and one female (aged in her 30s) in Cookstown, Co Tyrone, in connection with this investigation.

Gardaí say that investigations are ongoing.
