Mental Health Ireland will hold its AGM on Thursday, April 4th from 7-9 p.m. at Hannon’s Hotel, Roscommon.

MND TABLE QUIZ 

A Table Quiz will be held on Friday, April 26th organised by members of Roscommon County Council’s staff Social and Sports Club in the ballroom of Abbey Hotel, Roscommon, at 8 p.m.. Proceeds raised will go towards a special 'Go Fund Me' page to support Nicola Murphy who was recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Tables of four are priced €40 while a raffle will also be held on the night. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

ROSCOMMON HARRIERS 5k RACE SERIES 

Roscommon Harriers commence their 5km series for 2024 on consecutive Fridays starting on Friday, April 5th (race starts 7.30 p.m., pick up numbers from 6.30 p.m.), Dates are April 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th. Entry can be for full race series (€30 + fees in total), and the race number you get for race one will be for the runner to keep and wear in race 2, 3 and 4 or on an individual race basis €10 per race. Race HQ and number pick up at Hannon’s Hotel.

 DARKNESS INTO LIGHT 

Darkness Into Light, supported by Electric Ireland, will take place on Saturday, May 11th at 4.15 a.m. from the Convent of Mercy Secondary School Gym, Convent Road, Roscommon.

Communities from across Ireland and the world will come together to raise vital funds for Pieta's services and support anyone impacted by suicide and self-harm.

Every donation, every fundraiser, every walk and every community coming together makes a huge difference in the lives of do many.

ROSCOMMON TOWN TWINNING INVITATION 

 Would you and your family like to be part of an intercultural and educational experience with France? Roscommon Town, which is twinned with Chartrettes (near Paris), is inviting you to consider getting involved in this project. It is an opportunity to improve French language learning skills by hosting French visitors in your home for a weekend and in turn making a visit to them in France. The French will be visiting Roscommon on the first weekend of July this year and there is a busy local itinerary organised for them by the committee. MS IRELAND CHURCH GATE COLLECTIONS 

The annual church gate collection for the County Roscommon Voluntary Branch of Multiple Sclerosis Ireland will be held this weekend, March 30th/31st. All donations gratefully accepted.

ORAN

ORAN PARISH WALK

 A fundraising parish walk takes place on April 7th starting at Ballinaheglish Community Centre at 1 p.m. followed by refreshments in the centre. All funds raised will go towards the three churches in the parish of Oran.

EASTER BINGO 

Easter Bingo will take place in the Ballinaheglish Community Centre on Good Friday, March 29th at 8.30 p.m.. Raffle and spot prizes on the night. All profits from the bingo go towards the running costs of the centre for the year so support would be appreciated.

CAKE SALE FOR RAHARA NATIONAL SCHOOL 

A cake sale for Rahara National School will take place on Easter Sunday, March 31st at 11 a.m. in Rahara School. There will also Easter Egg Hunt and raffle with excellent prizes on the day. All funds raised will go towards equipment for the school. Raffle tickets available on the day. Support would be greatly appreciated.
