COUNTDOWN TO ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE 

This year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade take place on Monday, March 17th at 2.30 p.m.. This year’s theme is ‘Ballaghaderreen Going Green’. For information contact the committee at Stpatricksdayparadeballagh@gmail.com or DM the Ballaghaderreen St Patrick’s Day Parade Facebook page.

CREATIVE ARTS CAFÉ 

Community Creative Arts Café, weekly meet up starting Thursday, March 6th from 11.00 a.m. to 1 p.m.This is a self- led peer group coming together each week to work each person’s own creativity.

BALLAGHADERREEN FC 50/50 DRAW 

The winners of the Ballaghaderreen FC 50/50 draw last week were Cathal Duffy and Eoghan Duffy who scooped €357. Seller was Molly’s Bar. The Joker was not found. Cathal and Eoghan will have a chance to win €1,000 on this Tuesday, February 25th at the Community Park if they can pick the Joker before the 50/50 draw. Thank you for your continued support. CHILDREN’S ART COMPETITION 

The Texaco Children’s Art Competition, now in its 71st year, is accepting entries from young artists across Roscommon until Friday, February 28th. Entry forms and submission guides on www.texacochildrensart.com 

GAA 50/50 DRAW 

The GAA 50/50 draw took place in The Brusna Inn on Sunday last. The jackpot of €570 was won by Willie Duignan, Dalton Terrace. Seller was the Saturday Night Team. Next draw takes place on Sunday, March 2nd in Clarke’s Bar.

PLASTIC RETURN SCHEME 

The Plastic Return Scheme continues in Ballaghaderreen with sites located at Duffy’s SuperValu, The Fiddlers Elbow carpark and a 24-hour machine at Towey’s Spar and Topoil on The Dublin Road. Plastic bottles and cans can be returned to receive a voucher which can be redeemed against purchases in local businesses.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT GROUP 

The Active Retirement Group continues in the Ozanam Centre from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19th. Members and new members are welcome.

BATTERY RECYCLING WITH THE CE SCHEME

A mindfulness course will run for three weeks starting February 25th from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Community Park Ballaghaderreen.

 ACTIVE AGE GROUP MEETS 

Gurteen Active Age Group meets every Monday at 2 p.m. in the Coleman Music Centre for an hour. New members are encouraged and most welcome. Activities are arranged and outings -grant aided.

RECENT DEATH 

The death took place on February 18th of Mrs Kathleen Dart (nee Doddy) of London and formerly of Ardrahan, sister of Tommy Doddy of Cuilmore, Gurteen. Sincere sympathy is extended to her daughter brother Tommy and to all her relations and friends. May she rest in Peace.

EASTERN HARPS 

 Eastern Harps 50/50 draw held on Monday, February 17th was won by Veronica Shannon, Cloonanure- who won €704. Next draw on Monday 24th. The club is most grateful for all the support each week.

GURTÉEN CELTIC 

 Gurteen Celtic jackpot of €7,500 wasn’t won on Sunday, February 16th. Numbers drawn were -2, 22, 13, 24 and the €50 went to Geraldine Shannon, Cloonanure.

BINGO 

Bingo is held every Friday at 8 p.m. in Gurteen Hall. Jackpot is at €1,600 and the lotto jackpot is €300. The committee is most grateful for all support.

PIONEER DINNER DANCE
